I can't believe it's already been a year since my sweet little Samantha Jean was born. =) It has flown by because she is just such an angel. I can't believe what a good little baby she is. She brings us so much joy! We couldn't be more grateful to have our baby girl in our lives. Well, here are a few things that are going on with her right now...
She's still not walking much to the absolute joy of her mother. She can take her time, that is just fine with me. She is crawling around like crazy though and is almost a pro at going up and down stairs. Some of her favorite things are, putting anything she can find in her mouth, "Tangled", chocolate, Oatmeal cereal with fruit, going on walks in her stroller, moving her tongue around (it's so pointy, it's hilarious), playing with her big brother (when he's being nice), bouncing up and down, and so much more.
I can't wait to see what one more year brings. This little girl is truly an amazing blessing in our lives. Happy Birthday Samantha!!

So Busy!
So, I haven't been doing too well with my "catching up" lately and I will tell you why. Steven is working six 13-14 hour days a week. He usually leaves the house around 6:30 and doesn't get home until 8:30 at the earliest (except for Saturdays when he gets home at about 7:30). So I'm pretty much a single mom right now. On top of that, I have become obsessed with couponing again (much to my dismay). Ya, really not a fan of couponing, but you gotta do what you gotta do, right? I have to say though, it IS fun to come home with $12 worth of shampoo and conditioner for $1, or be paid $1.50 to take home 8 things of floss, and get multiple other awesome deals on things. It just takes a lot of time to find these great deals and so blogging has slowly drifted to the bottom of my priority list.
Well, since I don't have time to put my pictures on my computer let alone upload them onto this blog post, I'll just TELL you what's going on.
Cody:
He beat me up yesterday (or at least tried to) and spent the rest of the day in his room for it. It all started when he was sent to his room for being naughty, and while I was picking up all his toys to lock up in his closet so it would actually be a punishment, he decided to start punching and kicking me as hard as he could. I just ignored him, even though it did hurt a bit, and that infuriated him even more. I warned him that he'd spend the rest of the day, until Dad got home, in his room if he didn't stop (it was about 4:00 at this point), but that didn't even make him flinch. Little stinker. He sure can be a handful at times, but he really is a sweetheart most of the time. Like, if I drop something, he'll quickly pick it up and say, "here you go Mama". Or, when Samantha's crying, he'll rush to give her her binky, or if he's eating a treat he'll always offer me some. And multiple other examples. It is so fun to drop him off at preschool and watch him walk to the door with his cute little backpack on, and then to see his happy smiling face when I pick him up and to hear him say, "Mama, I love you". Ah, he can melt my heart when he wants to. I love my little Buddy Boo.
Samantha:
She is so dang cute! I have so much fun with her. She hasn't even started rolling yet and she's almost 8 months old. I am perfectly okay with that btw. By this time Cody was crawling around like a mad man. If Samantha was like Cody she would be taking her first step in just one month. Oh, thank heavens she's her own little person. :) She's finally starting to really laugh, especially when we play peek-a-boo. She absolutely loves baths, cereal, being held, being smiled at and talked to, kicking her legs, chewing on anything she can get her hands on, growling, squeaking, talking (she's saying "dada" and "baba" now) and so much more. She absolutely hates being left alone too long, having her nose cleaned, when her big brother is too rough with her, being on her tummy, and a few other things. For the most part, she is an absolutely patient, well-behaved baby. She sleeps so good! She has slept through the night for a couple months now. She is just an absolute delight! Everybody comments on how cute she is and what a good baby she is. I have to agree. :)
I am so grateful to have both my kids in my life, and my wonderful husband. He really is the best! Anyway, there's my little update. If you've made it this far, I hope you didn't get too bored. :)

Catching Up Part 3 (The Holidays)
Here's a post to get you back in the spirit of the season. Enjoy!
My parents preparing Thanksgiving dinner. My dad is always in charge of the whipped cream. He's a pro!
My mom is an amazing hostess as you can see.
Cody watching the movie upside down for some reason.
Our attempt at a family picture. Happy Thanksgiving!
Cody helping Dada with the Christmas lights. Yikes!
We had to wait in line to see Santa for over an hour. That was interesting. But in the end, Cody really seemed happy about it, and that's all that matters...right?
Our one and only snowman this year. The eyes nose and mouth are made up of little toy dinosaurs. I got creative. :)
Cute little cousins!
Baby Sammy with Poppy.
Starting the tradition of making sugar cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. That was an interesting experience. Next year I think I'll just have Cody help me decorate them.
Eggs Benedict for Christmas breakfast. Yum!
Cody's train set he got from G'ma and G'pa. He loves it!
Wow! A decent family picture. Shocker! Merry Christmas!
Starting the New Year's Eve night off with a Buzz Lightyear bang!
Steven's brother and his wife spent New Year's Eve night at our house so Cody got his first official sleep over.
The New Year's Eve gang...well what was left of them. I completely forgot to take pictures of the whole crowd while they were still there. Steven's entire side of the family spent the evening celebrating with us. It was such a fun night. We had amazing food, played Guitar Hero, had a fire going outside, and rang in the new year with sparkling cider and everything. What more could you want? Happy New Year!
Happy Holidays!!

Catching Up Part 2 (Samantha's Blessing)
Samantha was blessed on November 14th. The day went wonderfully well other than a few mishaps. Her dress stayed nice and clean the whole time she wore it; she slept through the entire blessing; Steven, Cody, Samantha, and myself were all healthy; and my amazing mom provided all the food for the luncheon afterwards leaving me with little to no worry about that. The mishaps included Steven's mom not being able to make it because she was too sick, my dad not being able to make it to the luncheon because of other Sunday duties, my brother unfortunately was out of town during it, one of my sisters and one of my brothers live out of town and couldn't make it, and Cody (the little stinker) decided that right when the blessing began would be a really good time to start acting up and being really disruptive so that I wouldn't be able to hear most of it. :( Yep...it's true. I pretty much missed the whole thing. However, we know a lady who was kind enough to come to the blessing and short-hand the whole thing. She did this with Cody's blessing too. So, I will at least be able to read the blessing in it's entirety. Thank heavens for her! I am so grateful to Steven for being worthy to give the blessing. He is an amazing husband and father!

Catching Up Part 1 (Halloween)
Yes, I have become a blogging slacker, big time. I could make excuses like, well, I have a new baby in the house, or I'm busy with a 3-year old, etc. etc., but instead I'll just get to it. :)
This year, Halloween was a blast. I was aching to throw a party though, but that's ok...next year. ;) My mom threw an awesome party. We dressed up, decorated cakes, colored masks, not to mention all the yummy food we ate. It was a blast. My mom is the best hostess! Cody was able to wear two different costumes this year. My friend let us borrow a dinosaur costume that he was dying to wear, but then my mom bought him a spider-man costume which he absolutely loves. So he was torn on which one to wear. He ended up wearing the spider-man one for my mom's party and the dinosaur one for trick-or-treating. Speaking of which...trick-or-treating was a little different this year. It was pouring rain, so Steven and Cody weren't gone long. Samantha and I stayed behind and had a little girl time. She, by the way, wore the same pea pod costume Cody wore when he was brand new for my mom's party. I thought it would be cute if all my babies wore the pea pod costume on their first Halloween.
Anyway, it was a great Halloween! Can't wait for next year!!
My mom made these adorable cupcakes for all the grandchildren. They were so cute!
Getting ready to go trick-or-treating.
All dressed up and ready to partay!
Cody and his cousins making masks.
Me, my beautiful sisters, and my gorgeous mom decorating our cakes.
My creation.
