Okay, so since I posted the pictures of Cody and myself underwater during swim lessons, I have had a few people ask where he takes lessons. So, here is the info. for those of you who are curious...It's a company called swimkids and their website is http://swimkids.biz/. Although they can be a bit unorganized at times, they are the best I could find in our area. About a year ago I was forwarded this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0mUPr68x2U. Being about 7 months pregnant, I was bawling by the end of this video. "Why!?!" some of you might ask. Well, on top of the hormones raging through my body at the time, just the thought of my sweet little baby falling in a pool with nobody around was enough to do it. But, the thought that there was a technique out there that could teach my, barely able to walk, baby how to survive, was a big factor too. Anyway, I started doing research and swimkids was the only organization that I could find in our area that taught this technique. So of course, I emailed them right away, and the rest is history. Cody is in the parent-tot class which is a 7-class program that costs $56.00. Small price to pay for what you get in return I'd say. Of course, the parent-tot class mostly just gets your infant used to the water. The next session of classes, which is what I'm going to put Cody into next, is around double the cost (I can't remember for sure), but they are private, one-on-one classes which start to teach the technique shown in the youtube video. I can't wait for Cody to learn that! Well, anyway, there you go for any of you who were wondering.
