This picture really has no reference to my post today, but I just thought it was cute.
I just wanted to thank everyone who commented for their input. It has made me feel much better knowing I'm not alone, and I've received some advice that so far seems to be helping a little. Since I got some advice, Cody hasn't had to nurse before 5 am once, and has even made it until 6:30 am and even 7 am once. That is the best he has ever done...EVER! I'm still trying to get rid of even that 5 am feeding, but this improvement so far is huge.
So, now my second problem, and probably even the more pressing problem (since it absolutely terrifies me every time I nurse him now) is that now that he has teeth, even though he has NEVER nibbled on me ever without teeth, he's starting to bite me...while nursing! Ouch!! He's bitten me 5 times and has drawn blood almost each time. Anybody have any success stories when it comes to this? Because I'm determined not to stop nursing, and hope that it's just a phase he's going through. If you have any horror stories, kindly keep them to yourself as I have already probably heard the most horrific possibility come to life for someone in my ward, and I really don't need anything else in my thoughts to terrify me even more as I'm nursing my little one. The poor thing. I've never been so tense nursing. Wow, I'm getting anxiety just typing about this.
Well, on a lighter note...I am proud to report that Cody has taken his first step!! Yay!! It was on July 5th. He's been standing up alone for a few weeks now, and on the 5th he stood himself up, took a step, and stayed up! I was so proud! He's only done it probably 2 or 3 other times, but still. I think he'll be walking any day now. I'm so proud of him! I'm sure a video will follow very soon. Stay tuned. (:

Congrats! Out of curiosity, which method is working for you overnight? The doctor just gave me the okay that once I start her on solids in a week or so here I can start training her to sleep through the night, so I am pumped about that. And I can't believe he is walking already! Wow!
As for the tooth, ouch. With Tyler, I had to yank him off of feeding (which made him mad) and say OUCH! really loud to startle him. It made him cry usually, but he got the idea that when I bite down, I don't get food anymore and scary things happen. It didn't always work, but usually he got the idea. If all else fails, you can "punish" him by giving him pumped milk in a bottle. That way he still gets the food, but you get a break and he won't like the results from biting down once again. Good luck!
What amazing blue eyes that boy has!
Yes, Dallin took a bite out of me once and I screamed....It terrified him so much that he didn't do it again! But it does hurt!
Way to go big guy on the first steps in life!
